The Healing Power of Touch

About the Therapist

Welcome and thank you for your interest in my work.

My personal mission is "To convey the utmost respect and caring through Massage and CranioSacral Therapy, enabling the body to invoke its own intelligent healing power."

How I came to this work:
I had been in the technology industry my whole career (from 1989-2010).   During a  specially assigned meditation at my spiritual community in 2010,  I literally received a calling to lay my hands on people.  I didn't know exactly what that meant but I started looking into various types of this work.  I ended up at McKinnon Body Therapy Center in Oakland at the beginning of 2011, studying to become a Certified Massage Therapist.

As part of my 500 hour program, I enrolled in a series of classes for Elderly, Oncology, Chronically Ill, and Hospice.  I took one class in CranioSacral Therapy and decided I needed to go to the source, Upledger Institute, to learn more about this intriguing therapy.  I also felt my heart pulled further to extended training for Oncology and Hospice Massage.  I extended my Oncology training with Oncology Massage Training Associates in Davis, CA, and hospice training with Irene Smith, a pioneer in this specialized, profound work.

I opened my Massage Therapy business at the end of 2011 and studied all the core classes for CranioSacral Therapy (CST) with Upledger during subsequent years.

Still working in the tech industry, my job allowed me to alternate between being online and serving my clients during the day.   I had the privilege of working with many cancer patients as a provider for the Sandra Wing Healing Therapies Foundation.

In 2013 I began providing CranioSacral Therapy appointments and seeing wonderful healings  occur.  I took courses with Irene Smith, working in-home and at facilities with hospice patients.

I continued in both the tech industry and healing therapies until 2017, when I had to close my Massage business due to family demands.  I remained in technology for four more years until the pandemic came and I was called back to begin again laying my hands.

My career now is focused solely on being a source for healing therapies to those in need.

How my own experiences can help others:

Having 32 years experience in the  technology industry gives me a direct understanding of the pressures and strains of the modern business world.  Being a single parent for 23 years also gives me unique insight into all the challenges of raising a family, and the toll that stress puts on our bodies. I managed all of my father's healthcare, finances and estate during his last years and arranged for hospice as the time drew near.  I have experienced profound loss and suffering that has further expanded my compassion for others.

I have been fortunate to receive relief through bodywork most of my life, and that means I truly know its value as both client and therapist.

Massage with genuinely empathetic expression is unlike any other other bodywork

The therapist's intention creates the space held during the bodywork -- and if they are mentally making their grocery list rather than being fully present with a client, the client can feel this. The client will surely reap some physical benefits, but not to the highest potential possible, nor on a profound emotional level.

As mentioned above, my mission is to communicate genuine caring through touch, and the message is, "I see you,  I understand, and I care."  Based on the feedback from clients, return visit rates and volume of healings I have witnessed, I can only say the messages communicated through me are received, and much of it comes from a power far beyond my own facilitation, perhaps as unconditional love from the Divine.

I offer a safe space, create the intention, stay neutral without attachment to outcome, and let the universe respond.  To be doing this work is a privilege and I am truly grateful and humbled for the trust and confidence my clients afford me.

Anyone seeking the healing power of touch with compassionate, patient attention can have the utmost confidence in my work.
